We make documentaries about people who enjoy a different way of life.
In June 2010 we're introducing "Chef de Riz." On the surface it's a movie about all things food in the quest for the coveted "blue ribbon" at a Cajun cook-off. Once the contest is over you'll see how family trumps the competition for one "Rice Chef." It's a cooking contest of whole-grain proportions! We'll preview the entire film online - for free - during a limited digital sneak peak here at ten18films.com
Past releases are streaming online now and are available for purchase on DVD. "Hexing a Hurricane," shows a part of New Orleans that refuses to give up on keeping the city's rhythm... even in the bleakest hours. And then there's "Don't Worry Honey, I Live Here." That's a "locals only" tribute to Mardi Gras. It's a must see for anyone captivated by the lesser-known celebrations far, far away from Bourbon Street.

The focus of ten18films - in 2010 - is on storytelling. We produce documentaries. But that hasn't always been our sole purpose...
ten18films was established in 2001 with a secondary mission beyond making movies. We also screened them. During the early years ten18films showcased more than 100 movies from aspiring filmmakers. We founded New Orleans' FLICKER FILM FESTIVAL, offering up-and-coming directors a coveted opportunity to take their work on tour to venues in New Orleans, NYC, Atlanta, Birmingham, Austin, Los Angeles, Chapel Hill and several other cities. Our FILM LOUNGE series provided a weekly home at the famous "K-Doe" Mother in Law Lounge in New Orleans. Every Tuesday night any director seeking a "test run" had a captive audience ready and waiting. Those projects helped jumpstart careers and revive New Orleans indie filmmaking scene. In fact we've been named "Best Hope for Independent Cinema" by Gambit Weekly.
In ten18films' ninth year that hope lives on in a different way. ten18films is connecting with a broader audience through television broadcasts, DVD distribution at university libraries and by streaming our videos online.
